Are you an Cost Engineer looking to join a leading Research and Development Cost Team for a major automotive manufacturer? Do you have a passion for future vehicle development?
If so, Expleo have an opportunity for you! One of the world's largest automotive manufacturers is currently recruiting for a Cost Engineer, based at their Research and Development site in Bedfordshire, on a rolling contract basis.
You will be responsible for leading the cost reduction strategy for the Infotainment team.
Responsibilities of the Senior Cost Engineer include:
* Post Start of Production (SOP) cost reduction strategy and management
* Lead cross functional cost reduction activity
* Infotainment representative with the purchasing team and infotainment suppliers
* Regular reporting of cost status and achievement to stakeholders
* Liaise with infotainment teams globally to share and collaborate ideas
* Collating documentation / presentations to progress cost reduction proposals
* Leading benchmarking and part tear down
Background and Experience required for the Senior Cost Engineer include:
* Ideally qualified with an Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
* Experience of electrical commodity cost management within an OEM / Electronics Company
* Background in electrical component manufacturing processes
* Ability to demonstrate cost achievements
* Skilled in cost management and cost tracking
* Experience in using data management systems
* Comfortable handling and manipulating large datasets
* Demonstrable knowledge of technical cost factors in design, tooling and product delivered cost
* Strong PC skills – Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
