A multi award-winning landscape company, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Landscape Estimator.
This is a senior role within the Commercial division of our thriving landscape/construction business, working alongside the Commercial Director, whilst also liaising with the Contracts, Finance, Plant Procurement and Design teams.
Our company designs and constructs award winning external residential and public realm spaces around West/North London, Surrey and the M4 corridor. We are also proud to undertake bespoke, design-led civil contracts for the RHS, Historic Royal Palaces, the Royal Parks and local authorities. With an annual company turnover of over £8m and varying contract values of between £20k to £4m, our busy Commercial department is pivotal to the success of our operations.
The role is based at our office in North Surrey, with some flexibility for remote working on one day a week. Some travelling may be required, with the opportunity to represent the Company at key meetings and events.
The successful candidate will need to be highly numerate, IT savvy, organised and motivated, with a proven ability to drive out accurate costings and timely responses on tenders. It is a fast-paced role which needs both focus and board thinking.
Our open plan office needs a collaborative team player, who is a confident communicator with stakeholders such as clients, landscape architects, garden designers, main contractor representatives and public realm officials.
Essential Experience and Skills in order to fulfil required duties
• 5 years estimating experience in a high-end landscaping firm
• Experience analysing pre-tender site visits – taking photos, identifying ingress and access issues and Health and Safety considerations.
• Experience of undertaking site visits, to review changes and check measures
• Experience of confirming quantities for certain material orders prior to procurement
• Expert in pricing on First Principles basis
• Expert in compiling comprehensive Scope of Works documents from plans in order to produce accurate pricing packages
• Expert in producing programmes for tender stage
• Expert in producing job costings / including variations on live / ongoing projects
• Proven track record of submitting timely and compliant tenders
• Excellent Excel and Microsoft office skills
• Highly numerate with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies
• Strong verbal and written communication
Preferred Experience and Skills in order to fulfil required duties
• Public realm experience – compilation of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) and attendant documents
• Strong knowledge of database estimating software – Valesco
• Experience of using Bluebeam Construction software
• Knowledge of the procurement of sub-contractors and bespoke material supply items

Qualifications
• A recognised degree at minimum Batchelors level in Quantity Surveying (Highly preferred)
• CSCS qualified (preferred)
• Full UK driver’s license (essential)
