Senior Network Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £30000 – £40000/annum
Position Summary
This position is a senior role within the Networks team – reporting to
the Network team manager. As such, expectations are high and the
successful candidate will need to be able to handle pressurised and
time critical situations.
Key for this role is the capability to – technically – advise, mentor and
support other staff within the Networks team. The successful
candidate will need to demonstrate a very high level of technical
ability and provide technical leadership within the Networks team,
within the wider organisation and in customer facing situations.
Travel: Travel is a requirement on an as needed basis but is
not expected to be excessive.
Position
Cisco CCNP Certified Networks Engineer required to join the
Networks Operational Support team. Ideal candidate will have
experience working with multiple vendor firewalls i.e Cisco,
Checkpoint, Palo Alto
Technical ownership of and acknowledged subject matter
expert in the following major technology capability – Firewall
(Cisco/Checkpoint/Palo Alto) , Cisco FirePower,Routing &
Switching (Cisco 3700, 3800, Nexus Switch), HP Switch
Key skills and expertise in other major technology capabilities
that are supported by the Networks Operational Team – Load
Balancer (F5/Barracuda), WLAN, Security
Client Focused with good communication and documentation
skills.
Good Analytical and troubleshooting skills i.e. can own and run
an issue with minimal intervention from others ensuring all
relevant parties are informed in a timely manner.
Positive “can do” attitude and able to assit Network team on
complex network desing and troubleshooting issue.
Network monitoring – Solarwinds, WUG,
Understand Network Security – PCI, GDPR, Pen Test
Support internal and external Network Infrastructure and
resolve Service Desk Networks tickets within strict SLA.
Owning, tracking and resolving support tickets related to
incidents, problems and changes
To understand and adhere to company standards and systems
for Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and Information
Security management and, as necessary, assist in their
monitoring and improvement.
Candidate must have very good knowledge on Cisco,
Checkpoint or Palo Alto firewall technologies. Also good
undersanding and working experience on routing, switching,
WLAN is essential.
Design and implement network connectivity solutions based
on business requirement
