Senior Passive Safety Engineer

Expleo are working with a major Automotive Manufacturer in the UK, our client is recruiting for a Senior Automotive Passive Safety Engineer, to join their research and development facility. Based close to Milton Keynes / Bedford, you will be working within a dedicated team of development Engineers, on an on-going contract basis.
The Senior Passive Safety Engineer is responsible for:
* Parts development and system performance planning
* Project manage vehicle projects for both lifecycle and new model development timing, incorporating the key safety-related milestones
* Cost and budget management, benchmarking and investigating cost reduction opportunities
* Validation of system and component performance from test
* Production preparation and delivery to key milestones
The Senior Passive Safety Engineer will have the following background, skills and experience:
* Ideally degree educated in a relevant subject matter
* Knowledge of Passive Safety Systems (Restraints) covering seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels
* Ability to understand Safety Regulation and the importance of NCAP and its component requirements
* Automotive experience, ideally within an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
* Excellent problem-solving skills with knowledge of Design Review, FTA and FMEA methods
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Proven knowledge of automotive design and process experience
