THE ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced Surveyor is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves analysing project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine the overall project cost, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor expenses. The Surveyor will ensure projects align with budgetary constraints and timelines.

We offer a speedy response and are a single point of contact for our clients across a broad variety of works and services to include: reactive, planned, remedial and emergency works in the commercial sector to include plumbing, roofing, tarmacadam, electrical, carpentry, groundworks, landscaping, glazing to name a few.
Our services are delivered at a rate of 90-95% through out own engineers with the remaining specialist works completed by specialist approved contractors that CC Cousins continue to manage as the single point of contact for our client base.
SURVEYOR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
* Analyse specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost assessments.
* Develop and maintain a database of costs related to materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractors.
* Attend site visits and site surveys to complete quotations, meeting with clients onsite when required to gather all information required to allow a detailed quotation to progress.
PROJECT ANALYSIS:
* Actively prepare and compile tender costs, ensuring accuracy and strict adherence to specifications
* Review project plans and specifications to identify potential cost savings or risks.
* Conduct site visits to gather relevant data for accurate cost estimation.
* Collaborate with other departments to verify project scope and requirements.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT:
* Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost tracking.
* Work closely with the project management team to ensure estimates are within the project’s financial goals.
* Monitor actual costs against estimates and provide updates as necessary.
VENDOR AND SUBCONTRACTOR RELATIONS:
* Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors.
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
* Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms.
DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING:
* The Surveyor will prepare and present detailed estimate reports to stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate records of all estimates, revisions, and correspondences.
* Ensure that all estimating processes and procedures are compliant with company standards and regulations.
COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION:
* Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
* Communicate with clients to understand their needs and expectations regarding project costs.
* Provide ongoing support during the construction phase to address any changes or discrepancies in the original estimate.
* Represent the organisation at client meetings and external events as required.
SKILLS:
* Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and technical documents.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
