Our client is based in the heart of the City and prides themselves in the personal, friendly and understanding approach to tax investigation resolution. They take time to understand their clients’ affairs, so they can represent them in the best possible manner, keeping them informed about the enquiry process and the progress made with HMRC at regular intervals

In order to achieve this success our client have traditionally recruited their Tax Investigators from teams at ‘Big 4’ and ‘Tier A’ accountancy firms, niche tax investigations practices and within HMRC as Tax Inspectors and they are looking to add to their current wealth of experience and knowledge by recruiting candidates who are ACCA or ACA or CTA Qualified/Part Qualified with previous UK practice exposure to join their team and carry out the duties which are summarised below-

Assisting individuals, companies, partnerships and trusts deal with HMRC Investigations.

Resolving tax investigation in the most efficient and cost effective manner whilst minimising clients tax exposure wherever possible.

Keeping up to date with the latest changes in enquiry legislation

Analysis of current tactics adopted by Tax Inspectors to tackle tax fraud and tax evasion.

Voluntary disclosures investigations

Serious tax fraud & tax evasion (under HMRC’s Code of Practice 9 (COP9) – Contractual Disclosure Facility – conducted by HMRC’s Fraud Investigation Service)

VAT Inspection advice

VAT fraud cases.

Developing relationships with tax inspectors

Communicating with HMRC’s Fraud Investigation Service teams.

Conclude HMRC’s investigation into clients as quickly as possible obtaining the very best financial outcome.

Providing clients with the highest levels of professional representation, service, courtesy and value for money.

This is a unique and ideal role for a part qualified /newly/ qualified accountant/tax consultant (ACCA or ACA or CTA) with experience of working in practice who want to try adapting their skills to work in tax investigations. The successful candidate will have experience of preparing accounts, profit & loss and have excellent written skills.
