About Our Client

Our client has been farming in Staffordshire for over 200 years. They are a six-generation family-owned business, and are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join the team.

About the Job

Reporting directly to the Operations Director they are looking for a Technical Manager to join the packhouse and the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of promoting quality within an organisation and technical function. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where the customer comes first and you will be a key link between the commercial team, farm and pack house.

Responsibilities

Ensuring compliance to audits and product specifications
Maintain and develop systems and processes used to monitor and control quality and technical specifications
Oversee clear and effective communication with our customers
Maintain and look to constantly improve strong hygiene controls across the packhouse and wider business
Be a clear and effective link between the farm and packhouse and oversee farm audits
Work alongside the farm team throughout the year on crop sampling
Be responsible for the Safety, health and environment across the site and attend and report into regular health and safety meeting

The Ideal Candidate

You will ideally have experience working within a technical team of a fresh produce business, you will need the ability to multi-task, have good IT skills, you will have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal and be proficient in excel.
Experience of working with BRC Version 9 and Red Tractor is a must-have. Knowledge and experience in auditing, Ideally you will have Food Safety Level 4 and HACCP Level 4 certificates.
