Technical Manager (Live Events)

Salary : £40000 – £43915/annum
Are you passionate about live events and technical production? This role offers the opportunity to manage a talented technical team and oversee the successful delivery of a wide range of events, from live music and theatre to conferences and banquets.
As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of productions, from planning and set-up to execution. Your role will involve managing technical staff, liaising with production teams, and ensuring the infrastructure and AV, lighting, and sound systems are up-to-date and operating smoothly.
You will work across a variety of venues, including an arena, art-deco ballroom, and 1500-seater theatre, offering a varied and exciting schedule. This role requires strong leadership skills, advanced technical knowledge, and experience within both entertainment and conferencing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the technical delivery of events, including set-up, equipment hire, and team coordination.
Manage contracted and casual technical staff.
Collaborate with the technical team to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Oversee the design, programming, and operation of AV, lighting, and sound systems.
Maintain and update venue infrastructure to keep pace with technological advancements. Experience Required:
Proven experience in managing or supervising a technical department.
Expertise in live technical event operations, including sound, lighting, staging, and AV.
Thorough knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, BS7909).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
