This post is perfect for a maintenance gardener who would like to change their career to landscape gardener or for a horticulturist/soft-landscaper with some maintenance experience and has the long-term potential of a management position. Any additional training required to enable this role to be performed will be provided at the company’s expense.

Company Mission Statement:

Designing and landscaping a garden is always about creating an environment which its users can enjoy. For this reason, we always strive to create outdoor spaces which are unique, bespoke on the client’s needs, and matching their expectations. We have developed and keep growing a loyal clients base through effective sources and word of mouth, strong of the highest quality service. We aim to increase revenue and profit margins without sacrifice quality nor recurring to non-environmentally friendly methods.

Working with us

The company is specialising in soft-landscaping and wildlife friendly gardens in particular, but we perform some hard-landscaping as well as part of our projects. We refrain from doing small hard-landscaping jobs which have no soft landscaping as part of the project. For this reason, we are looking for someone who is happy to complete some hard landscaping and ad hoc duties as required. But the main tasks will be soft landscaping and maintenance, mostly of gardens we built.

Maintenance work is done for the garden we build and selected gardens with interesting features. We limit the use of power tools. We don’t need a “master of the hedge trimmer” but a fastidious gardener with a good plant knowledge who knows as to use the secateurs. In the typical maintenance day, we visit 2 or 3 gardens and since we don’t work on hourly basis there is no rush to move from a garden to the next. At present, maintenance takes up circa 30% of the working week but it may increase in the future.

Previous experience in maintenance and/or soft-landscaping in another European country is highly desirable, but most of all we need the necessary mind flexibility to follow our procedures.

We have a holistic approach to landscaping and are involved in all aspects of landscaping which allows us to create outstanding gardens on budget. Thus a “can do” attitude and desire to learn new skills are a must.

Due to the nature of the job the candidate must be physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions.

The right candidate will have the motivation to get stuck into the business and grow with it and will be properly recognised and rewarded for their valuable contribution. The candidate will work in a team most days, but there may be occasions when they will work by themselves.
