We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Trainee Weekend Kitchen Assistant who is Passionate, Professional and Caring to be part of our team.
The Role:
You will work as part of an experienced and committed catering team, based in one of Croydon Councils residential care homes. You will be responsible for maintaining under general supervision of the Head Cook high standards of cleaning and hygiene in the kitchen, always ensuring compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation and basic food hygiene. In liaison with the Head Cook you will carry out the preparation and straight forward cooking and service of food.
Key Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will be conscientious, willing to succeed and be used to multi-tasking within in a fast-paced environment and be able to follow instruction and work as part of a team. You will be compassionate towards working with vulnerable older people and be supportive of a charitable, caring organisations aims and values.
As a trainee, on the job training will be provided together with all other training required to succeed in the role including Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults. Upon successful completion of a six-month probation period the successful candidate will become a Kitchen Assistant for which the hourly rate of pay will increase to £10.00 per hour.
